On December 6, 2009, we harvested our first-ever crop of Tuscan varietal olives. With a crew of family and friends, we hand-picked approximately 2,000 pounds of olives, which were immediately taken to The Olive Press in Sonoma for milling. We were rewarded with 23 gallons of the finest olive oil imaginable.
Sonatera Olive Oil is made fro 45% Leccino, 40% Frantoio, 10% Coratina and 5% Pendolino varieties. Sensory and chemical analyses put it waaaay beyond mere 'extra virgin' oils in quality!
