Sonatera is an artisan Pinot Noir vineyard located in
the Sonoma Coast appellation near Sebastopol, California.
The name Sonatera combines aspects of song and sonnet --
music and poetry -- with terra, the land. Wine is
the song of the soil, bottled poetry which celebrates the nuances
of the land in which it is grown. Thus, Sonatera.
Sonatera is a vineyard only -- our sole focus is growing small
crops of the finest possible Pinot Noir grapes. We provide
that fruit to two outstanding wineries with the expertise and
art to hand-craft world class wines.
We believe that great wine is a gift from nature. So
we farm gently and sustainably, with careful consideration
of our interdependence with our environment. Our goal
is to achieve a harmonious, healthful balance within
each vine, and between the vineyard and the sun, water
and soil.
